My Journey

About Education Province - Founder Image Abhijeet Pimparkar

Like many Indian students, I started in the science & engineering world. I graduated from COEP Technological University, Pune, one of India’s best engineering colleges.. I was good at coding, problem-solving, and everything technical. But it was only when I started preparing for UPSC-CSE that I realized how much I had missed in understanding the world beyond formulas and logic.

After graduating in 2016, from April 2018, I dedicated myself to UPSC preparation with Political Science & International Relations (PSIR) as my optional. I cleared Prelims in both 2019 & 2020 and wrote Mains. Unfortunately, by the time I attempted Mains in 2019, I had lost enthusiasm for studying (probably didn’t understood the stakes at that time). I missed the interview round both times—once by just 3 marks, and the next by around 14 marks.

In 2020, I also joined Bank of Maharashtra as a probationary officer. However, my passion for UPSC and political science never faded. By 2023, I took a leap of faith—left my banking job and committed myself full-time to UPSC content creation.

And yes, regarding my personal life, I am married, my wife also assists me in my work. I live in Pune and have a daughter, who is of course, very sweet.

Marksheets

CSE 2019

CSE 2020

If you see both marksheets above, I got less marks in GS 1- 3 both the times. This was largely due to the fact that I hadn’t studied them from Mains perspective at all. Further, at that time, I was also not aware about the importance of subjects like Society, Social Justice, Governance and Internal Security – which, when combined together are as good as one whole paper (250 marks). I realized about their importance only after compilation of our Mains PYQ Book and the data based analysis of PYQs.

I still feel bad that if I had pushed myself a little, results could have been totally different. But that’s the harsh truth about CSE preparation. At the end of the day, your reason for doing UPSC matters more than your aptitude and skills.

Why Education Province?

One of the things that struck me during my UPSC preparation was the Westernization of knowledge in humanities subjects. In science, it doesn’t matter much where a discovery comes from, since objective truths remain the same. But in political science, history, and philosophy, perspectives matter—because these subjects shape how we think.

But that’ll come much later.

Even more frustrating than the content was the way UPSC preparation was being approached. As I experienced myself and observed, students spend years preparing, yet many fall into unnecessary cycles of wasted time and effort because of flaws of institutions (including the reputed ones) that teach them. Existing coaching system is riddled with issues like incomplete syllabus coverage, poor test evaluation, unrealistic test series, uncompetitive teaching etc. The list goes on. But I won’t bore you with it. The recent penalties by CCI on many such institutions is a case in point.

I always felt that UPSC is not as random as they say, and it’s just an excuse made by students and teachers who couldn’t understand it, and a systematic approach to UPSC preparation is possible.

How We Started

With this intention, we initially started Politics for India in 2020. The idea was simple: provide structured, well-explained, and exam-oriented content for PSIR (Political Science & International Relations). Over time, the platform grew, helping thousands of aspirants grasp core concepts, develop answer-writing skills, and gain conceptual clarity in a subject.

Soon, we realized another major gap: Prelims was a roadblock for many talented aspirants. Even students with strong knowledge and understanding were failing to clear it, mainly because they lacked the right approach and systematic practice.

That’s why, in 2022, we launched Education Province—to provide a dedicated platform for Prelims preparation. Our goal was to create a realistic, UPSC-aligned Prelims test series, along with structured content that actually helps students navigate this unpredictable stage of the exam.

What We Do

At Education Province, we aim to make UPSC preparation structured and systematic. We believe in a methodological, goal driven approach to UPSC preparation. All of our articles of UPSC Prelims Strategy and the content and the books are designed in this fashion.

Currently, the website hosts UPSC Prelims and Mains Previous Year questions, segregated in topic wise manner, along with history notes. We’ve also have a Prelims Test Series that promises you the closest experience to actual UPSC Prelims in terms of question quality.

In future, we plan to develop the content for all the subjects of UPSC-CSE. We’ll be starting with borderline subjects like society, social justice and governance next year (2026) and proceed accordingly.

We’ll also be focusing more on content creation than classroom coaching since the reach of content is always more and is always an affordable option for most of the students.
